We loved the spacious room with a unique copper bathtub and beautiful decor. Plus, the garden was perfect for relaxing after sightseeing.

The huge copper bath was a luxurious treat after a long day, and the imaginative seasonal dinner left us delighted. Staff attention was perfect, striking a balance of helpfulness without being intrusive.

Upon arrival, the room felt uncomfortably hot due to a broken sash window. Although air conditioning resolved the issue once discovered, a clearer instruction at check-in would have eliminated confusion. Parking is a trek from the hotel. While drop-off is quick, the public car park requires a 5-minute walk, which can be a consideration for those with mobility issues. The bathroom could use towel racks for convenience post-shower, and the bedroom layout felt cramped with limited socket availability. Breakfast had good poached eggs but lacked variety, not meeting the expectations set for hotel dining at this price point.

i had a lovely stay at poets house. the room was huge and beautifully decorated, with a wonderfully comfy bed that made it hard to get up in the morning! the location is fantastic, right in front of the cathedral, and the staff were incredibly attentive without being intrusive. dinner was a standout, with imaginative dishes that were beautifully presented.
